Raychelle Cassada Lohmann, Ph.D., NCC, LCMHCS

Dr. Lohmann completed a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at North Carolina State University. Coincidentally, this is the same University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Counselor Education. With over 25 years of experience in school and clinical mental health counseling, Dr. Lohmann has devoted much of her time to working with children, adolescents, parents, and educators. She is passionate about counseling and strives to fulfill her mission of “helping others transform their lives from the inside out.”

Dr. Lohmann loves teaching and is a professor working with students pursuing a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. In addition to her educational background, Dr. Lohmann is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Supervisor (#S3954) in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina (#4802). Dr. Lohmann enjoys contributing to the profession and helping others. She is an internationally known author and sought-after speaker covering several of today’s most popular topics. Dr. Lohmann is also a contributor to media outlets, including Psychology Today. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international publications, including the Associated Press, Chicago Tribune, Seventeen Magazine, Scholastic, and US News and World Report. In addition, Dr. Lohmann has authored nine books, and her works have been translated into eight different languages.

Dr. Lohmann believes in making evidence-based practices accessible, practical, and relevant. Not only does she do this in her written work, but she also does this in practice. As a practitioner, she provides brief and long-term therapy working with individuals and groups. Her approach to counseling utilizes cognitive, behavioral, trauma-focused, and mindfulness-based therapies to address a variety of behaviors and issues, including academic, anger, anxiety, bullying, depression, stress management, complex trauma, social, interpersonal, and many other issues.

Dr. Lohmann is an EMDR-certified provider and an active member of the EMDR International Association. She holds the following certifications: Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), Board Certified Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMH), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF).
